My name is Patrick Vanderpool and i’m currently a creative designer working for Ford Motor Company. After my core job helping design the future Ford and Lincoln lineups, I’m Freelance Industrial Designer for ‘Vanderpool Designs LLC’ which I founded. I work with only a small handful of special clients every year helping their dreams be realized! I’m a 2012 alumni of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco with a Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) in Industrial Design majoring in Transportation Design. Previously, I’ve worked for General Motors for 4 years as a Creative Sculptor on various future projects and one of them being the 2017 Chevy Camaro! I’ve also done some freelance work that helped developed my skills with working with clients. I love designing things, making models and inventing! I’m taking my Industrial design experience and using it to help others dreams become a reality!
I think it is very important to have an eye for design and have an innovative mindset to be a successful Industrial Designer. I also think it is important to be able to incept then conceptualize those ideas into a 3d landscape to enable a turn around to reality. I’m taking advantage of the technologies we have today such as 3d printing to rapidly and affordably prototype almost anything into reality. Currently, I design and 3d model your ideas, and use Shapeway’s services for the 3d printing because they offer a wide amount of materials.
